When I went to school, all the kids would always complain, about how boring our history lessons were. And even though I would sometimes agree, I found that it wasn’t entirely true.
My mission with Notoriously Boring, is bringing history content to the people in a way that is, you know, not boring.
I intent to do this, by writing in a way people can relate to, while still being true to the sources. And by making a podcast, for those who perfer listening to their stories. And for those who would like to read books, I will be reviewing history books on how easily read they are. How fun they are to read. How much you have to know beforehand about the topic. And than an overall score based on these factors combined!
Why am I doing this to myself?
I’ve always had a personal passion for both history and reading. Two things, it turns out, which fit perfectly together. But I also know how daunting it can be to actually find a book about history, that’s actually worth reading! It sometimes takes time and effort people don’t have, and so they don’t do it. This is why I started this project. To make history more accessible to people without the time to read countless academic reviews, before investing their time in a book. Which also might turn out to be incredebly badly written! Something academic reviewers don’t always take into account!
Yet, research takes time (But I do have two reviews curently in the works. So follow me on Instagram for updates). Time that I currently don’t have, and so you’ll just have to wait. If you have any suggestions on what you want to read and/or listen to, please leave a message below and I’ll have a look! I look forward to making history, well, less boring!
